Inventor’s mother

Inventor’s mother

It’s hard to believe this colorful project began as a white on white embossed piece. I made it using my new Inventor’s Mother stamp and some other nifty new products.

I named this stamp in honor of my son, who when he was young was certain he was going to be an inventor. Now in his early 20s, he has headed in a different career direction, but he still has that wonderful creativity and curiosity that prompted his first career aspirations.

To make the piece, I began by stamping the Inventor’s Mother stamp with clear embossing ink onto white cardstock, covering it with Glistening Glass Molten Dimensions and activating with a heat gun.

Next I spritzed the new Izink sprays from Seth Apter onto the cardstock and dried it with a heat gun.

I then added Seth Apter’s Rocky Road Baked Texture to the edges, again using embossing ink and a heat gun.

After adding Seth’s new Wow embossing powders to some metal embellishments (and making sure they were fully cool) I glued the embellishments in place.

I also adhered a boy from Precocious Children to chipboard, cut out and adhered to the cardstock.

To finish the piece, I mounted the cardstock to some pages from a vintage electrical book and then to black cardstock.

Great Stuff
