It’s day four of Paper Calliope’s 13 Days of October and I’m on a roll. I have been creating faux leather books like crazy.

Because I wanted to alter spiral bound drawing pads, these books don’t have the same authentic appearance as the book I created for my earlier tutorial. They were still a lot of fun to create, and I used nearly identical techniques.

For one of the books I covered the spiral with faux leather and hid the seam with ribbon. To make the leaf books I traced a maple leaf multiple times onto cardstock and cut it out with scissors. I then glued two maple leaves together before adhering them to the book cover.

After adding a decorative braid to the cover, I made the smaller book into a journal by covering each of the interior pages with cardstock.

These are just a couple of the inside pages. All the interior pages are color coordinated.
